persuasive social media ad

persuasive social media ad

Academic project, April 2024, individual

Background

This ad was created for individuals who prioritize sustainable living but may have difficulty taking action due to factors such as procrastination, concerns about cost, and a desire for simplicity and convenience. It is designed to resonate with environmentally conscious individuals who believe in the importance of minimizing their impact on the environment and value community involvement and collective action. This ad also aims to appeal to individuals who value creativity and community but need extra motivation to actively participate. Whether you are a seasoned environmental advocate or a newcomer looking to make positive changes to your lifestyle, these ads inspire and empower individuals to embrace sustainability in a way that aligns with their values, preferences, and aspirations. Additionally, I have chosen Pinterest as the social platform because it is one of the applications I use the most every day.

Mockup

This is an ethos advertisement for freecycle.org, I included a mockup to visualize its presentation within the Pinterest app. Rooted in ethics, ethos is highlighted through the strategic use of words like 'Unite,' 'Our Planet,' and 'Future.' This choice aims to underscore the collective responsibility of safeguarding our planet and shaping a brighter future together. Additionally, instead of a simple meadow, flowers have been added to address the ideal beauty of nature. The word 'Unite' is complemented by a butterfly, while 'Future' is adorned with a leaf, evoking a sense of softness, comfort, and natural beauty. Further, recycling icons are subtly integrated into the letter 'O's, symbolizing freecycle.org's commitment to recycling and environmental stweardship. This harmonious blend of visual elements not only reinforces the message of unity and responsibility but also creates an illusion where the recycling icon, when seen through the butterfly and leaf, resembles a delicate flower from afar, adding to the overall harmony of the design.
